On July 6, Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov held consultations in Washington with US Special Representative for North Korea Policy Joseph Yun.
The officials exchanged opinions on the situation concerning the Korean Peninsula as well as in Northeast Asia. Igor Morgulov highlighted the importance of a collective approach to finding a new comprehensive solution to subregional problems in the spirit of military-political détente and non-confrontational policies.
On July 7, Igor Morgulov met with Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs Susan Thornton. They discussed the situation in the Asian-Pacific region, regional economic integration and bilateral cooperation at multilateral Asian-Pacific associations, including APEC, East Asia Summit and the ASEAN Regional Forum.
