On July 20, the seventh round of the Russian-Chinese Dialogue on Security in Northeast Asia took place in Beijing. The Russian delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov and the Chinese delegation – by Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Kong Xuanyou.
A trustful exchange of opinions was held on military-political aspects of security in Northeast Asia. The sides discussed at length the current opportunities to defuse tension on the Korean Peninsula and expressed mutual concern about continuing missile launches by North Korea and a high degree of military activity in the subregion. An agreement was reached to continue close coordination at all levels and promote positive shifts in the situation around the peninsula.
